My WAG, your smallies are still pretty small, could be 6"- at most barely 10", I'm no expert, but that's my experience. Their hungry,
but not big enough to "Control" your YP. Your YP started off 50-100% bigger than your SMB, unless I misread your 1st post.
Recruitment ? too many variables, Avian predators, pond temp, pond depth ,etc, etc. Couldn't hazard a guess. Sorry not more help.
I'll bet your Smallies are still there, try some live minnows, crappie size, or some very small lures, a 1" imitation minnow balsa wood lure, maybe ? Their still small fish at 9-10 months in your pond, with small mouths compared to LMB.
