I also have a 10 foot jon that very seldom gets used. I have flipped it over and found a skunk and various types of snakes. I do it and jump back now. I have a small 12' pelican from Academy that does me well for a 1 person boat. I too have flipped it over to find surprises...while there has been a snake staring me down, the most memorable was a HUGE bullfrog that jumped onto my boot, fell over, and could barely get back up..I'm talking a pie plate here! Eastland, a boot full of frog is a classic.
