New pond guy here, and I am trying to learn about aeration systems. The Vevor system in the O.P. is ~$300. A local pond company quoted me a Vertex system (1/3 HP, 2.5 CFM) for $3000, which includes a cabinet. What gives? How can there be an order of magnitude price difference? I assume the Vevor is all Chinese stuff, but I don't see any complaints in the reviews. What does the big-name brand offer to warrant the additional costs? The difference is support, parts availability, cabinet, warranty, etc., etc. What you aren't getting with the Vevor is bigger weighted air line, distribution valves, cooling fans, cabinet, etc., etc. You are also getting the support from the person that sells it to you. Call Vevor and ask them about spare parts and filters for it.
