Dr Claude Boyd wrote an interesting article in the recent Nov/Dec PB issue about the impact of different fertilizers on ponds. He mentioned that ammonia based fertilizers tend to increase acidity, but nitrate fertilizers do not.
Like most east Texas ponds, my BOW is naturally infertile & acidic. Should I make an effort to pick out a nitrate type pond fertilizer? What's out there for folks in my situation? Any advice would be appreciated! What's your alkalinity?
