We have a pair of geese nest on an island in our pond every year. However, they always leave very soon after hatch with about 3 babies in tow for parts unknown. I attribute their short stay on predation, and believe that large bass are part of the equation. If the male goose would stay off of my floating dock, then I would not really care about their nesting. The male does patrol the pond and chase off other geese so we only have the one pair although we have a second nesting pair this year now using the first pair's same nest.
