I really don’t see many in the winter even here in Texas. This year we had ice on the pond for the first time . Not sure where they went but it didn’t hurt them cause soon as it warmed a bit they were back in the shallows doing what they do.... whatever that is..... lol I like them. I have tons of ghost shrimp also that are cool critters also
