Thanks, Fishing Rod. The eagles drop by about this time every year, stay about three months. They always fly into a densely forested part of the property in the evening, perhaps a nest. Nearest reservoir is a power plant lake about ten miles away.
Always surprises me that the most common fish in the pond, the panfish, are last to come shallow. Trout dominate feeders now, though we also see bass & sometimes a striper. On warmer days, this is a great time to target gamefish. As you say, it feels good to take friends fishing when they will likely have success!
