I've attached an optimized version that is floating and utilizes 3" PVC. Larger the pipe and airflow, greater the water flow. The air should be delivered at 32-48" depending on air flow and regenerative blowers/high cfm pumps are best.
My version is more similar to the dutch airlift designs and uses an elbow at the top followed by a tee (breather pipe), this version directs all of the flow in one direction and can be directed with a 45 degree elbow downward or to the sides
