T-wreck - Niced sized pond to grow some good sized perch. You should have some good times in the up coming years. Keep us posted.
I am interested in how your battle with weeds progresses and what types will invade your pond. I assume your water will have low alkalinity. Plus your water could even have a light brown tint from tannin leachate draining from some nearby bogs or swamps. Water clarity will be a big determining factor for you regarding weed infestations.
It may take several years for weeds in get introduced into our pond. Usual method of introduction in your case will be by seeds deposited from waterfowl manure.
