My pond is getting into the 60s in the afternoon, and will be higher still in a few days if the weather folks are right. I'm thinking of fertilizing with maybe 20-25 pounds of perfect pond plus. Goals: Increase plankton to help newly hatched fry, decrease visibility to make life harder for cormorants, and grow more algae to increase cover for fry and PK shrimp.

Currently you can see down about 2 feet, greenish tinge. Last I checked, alkalinity 34, hardness 48.

Is it too soon to fertilize? What factors should I consider? Intend to add 120 lb TP in a month or two.
