I find it really odd that in my one acre RES/SMB pond I can see the SMB but they sure do not want to bite what I offer. Yet in my main 3 acre pond where I have transferred some of the SMB out of the RES/SMB pond into it and they are a relatively small portion of the overall fish population I catch one or two about every time I fish off the dock around the fish feeder.

My only explanation is that in the main pond the smallies have to compete with a robust population of BG where in the RES/SMB pond that competition is lacking. Don't know if that is the reason for sure, but for some reason in the main pond I catch them regularly.

I need to know what to look for in the identification of the spotted bass.
