That picture of the stocker perch shows it had a full belly; maybe fat, maybe it just ate a small fish, or it had eggs. Eggs in July for YP is the least likely of the three choices. However if the perch were raised in cold water plus the fact that year one perch are usually late to spawn, it is possible, not likely, that a few of the stocker perch had a late spawn last year. If I would see that same stocker perch in prespawn, I would definitely consider it a gravid female. Never say never.
