Got HVAC all connected & working at pond house! Now we can bring in furniture & stay there. Still have siding to put up and grass sod, but this is a big step forward.
Fished about 2 1/2 hours with buddy. We caught ten, culled eight, buddy lost one in the 4 to 5 lb range. Again, anything longer than 15 inches is fat & very healthy.
Despite newly deployed bird tape, cormorants were on lake. Sigh. Don't know if this group is tougher than last year, or maybe more desperate. Also a kingfisher, two Canada Geese (who hung around the one feeder with food!), two GBH and the mated pair of bald eagles. More turtles than last summer.
Long 80 lb fishing line strung from trees to stobs don't seem to have done a lot to discourage cormorants. Oh well, you never know until you try.
