I like the idea of using bamboo as I cannot bring myself to add plastic or rubber to my pond. I know this is silly, but I add branches but not tires or PVC pipe. I have a grove of bamboo so this might be an option for me. I don't think it's silly at all. I pondered over that as well before adding the plastic to my pond. I'm hoping the plastic is so old that all the fumes have dissipated.
