I mowed around my pond again today. Week before last I seeded annual rye along the wet exposed banks from the water dropping. Today I saw a nice thick crop of seedlings. When or if the pond fills back up there will be a nice layer of grass for cover and plankton growth for the smallest fish. I did the same thing along the lower banks for erosion control as the pond first filled.
