Greetings, Pond Boss faithful!
Working on the latest edition of Pond Boss magazine. We’ve got lots of great topics coming up in the May-June issue. Looking over the editorial list, we’ve got a good line up. Dr. Wes Neal has penned a story about fish habitat and how it affects production of your fish, Dr. Brian Graeb has a very interesting story about using habitat to “re-plumb” the food chain. Eric West has written about muddy water and the food chain. Mark Cornwell discovered young smallies in his pond…and it doesn’t make much sense. Or, does it? Read his story, very interesting about what we don’t know about our ponds. Wildlife biologist Dan VanSchaik writes about black bears. Do they live in your neck of the woods? Dr. Boyd gets down to basics with fundamentals about phytoplankton and fertility. Otto shares three different landowners and their due diligence about building a pond. Birdman Mel is back with his Backyard Nature Notes, always a reader favorite. Michael Gray digs into his archive about some folks who wanted to revitalize an old farm and a creative with to use shallow ground water to keep a pond full. Dave Beasley shares some basics about building your dream fishing pond. And, there are a couple of surprise articles you won’t want miss. If you haven’t subscribed, do it now.
