I can get this galvanized 1/2"x1/2" much easier than anything. I think I will go that rout. I remember as a young boy building these for muskrat and catching the biggest grass pike I have ever seen in our small rivers. This was by accident but when we pulled the trap out onto the bank the fish went nuts. The trap was bouncing two feet off the ground. The door was not big enough to let the pike out because we were expecting rats. Had to cut the door bigger and never used that trap design again for rats.
