Rex,
That too sounds pretty interesting. I have a Chinese-made 2-inch semi-trash pump from TSC (Red Lion brand) that has served me very well over 3-4 seasons. It is used almost exclusively for irrigating my garden and wildlife feed plots from my ponds.
I'd be interested in knowing more about the intake nozzle you made.
I've tried to find the pump specs, but couldn't find much. I know it will easily pass at least 1/4-inch soft crap.
I've tried to use the pump for pulling leaves from the pond edges, but that didn't work. Everything got jammed.
But, I'd sure like spray my garden and wildlife food plots with bottom muck -- that I also want to reduce.
I've got welding equipment and plenty of scrap materials to make a vacuum head. Any suggestions would be appreciated based on what you built.
Regards, Ken
