As he said, the more critical factor is consideration of natural ranges, habitat usage, and habits of the bass you are considering stocking and whether those match up with the setting you will be placing them into. One often overlooked factor in this is that all Northern bass are not the same. With newer genetic analysis techniques we see considerable differences between "Northern" bass in the Tennessee River and "Northern" bass from Kentucky or Minnesota. For example, "Northern" bass in the Tennessee have residual Florida alleles, likely from a shared common ancestor with Florida bass, that are far less common in the far North.
