Muskrats are not very friendly to a pond (especially if it is raised). Mine is level with the ground and can't drain anywhere. Stock your pond and it will also help with mosquito control. You can still swim, fish and ice skate (when cold enough). You wouldn't believe how many of your kids friends will want to fish
