I put a dozen Koi in my 3/4 acre pond and have seen no turbity, or recruitment. They definitely have cut down on the FA, at least by 40%. They grew extremely fast. I put 12 inch fish in, and had 2#ers within a month. I would say they are now 5# after 3 or 4 years. Bright colors, and easily seen. Never tried to catch one so not sure how easy they are to catch. They are in shallow water close to shore a lot.
