Then the big pond only came up about 3" then. That island wasn't 6" above the water!
I know, I know, the amount of horizontal water coverage is deceiving. That's why I put a metal yardstick on a stake in the pond. I can read the water level on the yardstick. I thought the same thing as you, but once I put the yardstick in the pond, I realized that what I thought wasn't corresponding to the readings on the yardstick.
