Mine is set up so that the lead stays in place and I just walk out, tip the trap up and pull it in. Then I take the trap back out and center it on the lead and I'm done. Of course, I can move the lead if I want however I will wait until I get an easier lead to move. I just used what I had on hand yesterday because I wanted to get the trap in the water and start catching fish. I will have it soaking 24/7 for the next month trying to move as many fish as possible (and fill the freezer with crappie!
