Unless you want your stocker trout to be expensive musky food I'd leave them out... Manage your SMB number via human means such as angling/netting etc. If the pond is big enough, say 5+ acres, stocking 1 or 2 per year or every other year and removing them when they exceed 30" is possible if you don't mind losing many trout to them.
