Hi all,
What a great source of info. here. We had our .5 acre pond dug in the summer of 08. Last spring with the advice of a local fish hatchery we stocked with 1.5 - 2.5 inch YP (100), LMB(100), and BG (250) along with 100 breeder G. Shiners and 500 2-3 inch FHM. Also 50 crawfish, 100 Bullfrog tadpoles, 100 trapdoor snails and 25 FW mussels. We added submerged trees for structure and have some plants (water iris, rush, lily's). I know we had some FHM reproduction last year. This spring the bass are now about 5-6 inches but I see no FHM fry in the shallows. Is it likely that these bass and perch who were introduced as fry along with adult FHM have already decimated the forage fish population? If so, how many FHM would I need to add now to sustain a healthy forage population? Thanks for your thoughts.
