Ok Ken you wnet over my head but many of the cheaper feeders do not address this isuue you bring up. I do belieiv the opening is much larger than three times the size of the pellet. Mositure I feel is critical consideration as well. This is why a powerful motor combined with the opening size if important to having a well functioning fish feeder.
