I've got the exact stuff on my pond in knox county. Thought it was pollen at first as the pond is on the edge of the woods, but the wind blew it all into one corner and it's definitely algae.

I'm in on here to find out what it is.

Have the same stuff on one of my ponds this year. Have never had it before. I think it's "blue-green algae"

Several types of algae will crate those surface films and or scums. Often they will be bluegreen algae, not always. There are about at least 100-200 species of bluegreen algae that will cause green surface films. Here is an easy way to test if it is a problem possible toxin causing bluegreen. Collect some in a drinking water bottle filled with about 1/2 to 2/3 full of water and algae. Put on the lid/cap. Let it sit a few hours. Open the lid and smell the air space in the bottle. If it smells vile, moldy, rank or strong offensive then it is bluegreen. Little odor or grassy or fishy odor is likely a green alga not bluegreen.
