KarlZ new pond
Finally figured this out. New pond, 3/4 acre, still filling. Spillway can be seen to the far right side by levy.

Nice setup! I like the shape and it looks like it's not too far of a walk to feed or do a little fishing!

Very cool. Could I ask how much it cost to dig or did you do it yourself?

We paid a guy to dig it. I think we were into $11k by the time we were done. Hit 9 feet of black soil that had to be taken out, essentially turned it into two projects; the pond, and spreading it over the whole property and re-landscaping!

Thanks. It looks wonderful filled. Unfortunately, when the water table falls, so does my water level. Searching for possible solutions among the forum threads but not finding any answers. Dam and sides are tight, its just how to isolate my water from the water table. Don't know if Bentonite will do the trick or not.

Is there a way to put a pipe in the spring that sticks up to your desired water level and seal it where it connects the the spring so water can flow up and out of the pip when high but the pond cant drain below the hight of the top of the pipe?
All advice should be regarded as being pulled out of my @$$ or as second @$$ knowledge. Reader responsible for confirming.

Karl’s, I’ve never found a way to influence the water table.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
