Well, it's gonna be my front yard. We should be breaking ground any day on our new home and I hope to be living on the property by next spring.

We have already started working on some Habitat restoration around the pond and it was stocked with HBG, LMB and FHM's for forage back in March. The fish are doing great, I posted a pic of one of the HBG that nailed a beetle spin on the site, as well as the pic's of the pond.

I'm sure that I'll be looking for more advice from this site as things develop, it seems to be THE PLACE to get answers!

You know what the big disadvantage to having soil conditions that are good for a pond is.....those conditions SUCK for putting in a septic system!

The local Health Department just told us that our perk test/soil sample failed due to high clay content. I'll still be able to build on the land, but the septic system will be 4 times as much to put in!

Jeeeezzzz!

But hey, my pond is holding water like a porcelain bowl! It would probably cost more to fix a leaking pond than the increased cost of my septic system right?
