I'm in the process of filling and landscaping my .1 acre pond. If you have follwed my post in the "soils section " you know what I have been going thru.
I'd like to see some pictures of other small ponds. So if you would like to show off your work, please post a picture.

  dont know ifin ya can see the hot wire but i have to keep the donky off the the new willows till they get alittle bigger.

Scruffy, I put some sod down after my pond was complete. Rented a sod cutter, but that was work!!

Thanks for posting. I love the blue water. I hope mine turns out as nice. How deep are they and do you have any fish?
Is the aeration keeping the water looking that nice all the time?

GW, that stuff looks lethal.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

DD1, if you're looking at the thumbnail in my post above most of the green you're seeing is an algae bloom. The watermeal did make a slight comeback, but I think the algae has kept it in check.
If you're looking at the first pics from the thread I linked to then that's the watermeal in all it's glory. The watermeal most likely was lethal, or at least played a role in the fish kill that pond experienced.
Either way you slice it Mr. H has one very green pond.

Yeah, it is the algae bloom that looks lethal. I've had that one time and lost every fish in a forage pond that I didn't manage. That indicates a serious nutrient overload.

We had a couple of rains last July which raised my newly dug .15 acre pond to 36". This October you could play beach volleyball on the bottom. The bermuda & Kentucky 31 grass atop the dam is now brown as well. The good news is I dug and lined a 24" hole in the bottom to give my future RES a cool escape.
