I was wondering how many people have had success with hybrid bass in small ponds (between 2 and 3 acres). My pond will be done in about two months and would prefere to have hybrid over largemouth, but was concerned that my body of water would be too small.

CW - Fertility and temperature determine what can and how much can be raised per acre; not so much as the size. If you want the stocked fish to spawn and repopulate now that is a complex story. Where you from? Can you complete your profile it helps us answer your questions. Region of the countryu sometimes makes a difference with the answer.

Hybrid stripers do not breed, so that is not a concern of mine. It's just that I have never heard of hybrids in a small pond before and was just wondering if it could be done. Located in the upstate of south carolina

Dear Upstate S.C.:
Hybrid stripers are excellent for small ponds. With a daily feed program, you can have 8-pounders in 3-4 years.

Thanks Mark, I didn't know that they would eat pellet food so easy. What are the stocking rates for a airated pond with a strong supplemental feeding program.
