I found some posts several years ago when I first stocked my pond. One person said to fence-staple a bundle of cedar shakes to a rope and let the rig float on the pond and another said to just stick the shakes in the bank in shallow water. There's always pallets too. I installed pallets the first fall and had a ton of fatheads by the following spring. I also had several pieces of scrap 2x4s that had floated into the pond from the house construction. I started to take them out but they all had the jelleylike-star-shaped-egg-globs stuck to the bottom of them so I just left them.
