Welcome to the bluegillguy44!!
I've raised fathead minnows myself, and have found that they are extremely fond of pelleted feed. In the pond they were raised, I never separated the adults from the fry and it didn't prove to be a problem. They are so prolific, that even if there is a small amount of cannibalism it would prove to be insignificant, especially if there is a lot to eat in the form of pellets.
