Does everyone in Mississippi decorate their Christmas trees with jelly blobs?

Looks too good for the fish to eat. I bet it would make a killer gravy. I've been looking for bryozoa to transplant into my pond. I think they're very cool creatures, and 1 more piece of the pond puzzle.

Ewest's pictures are really great, and they show how the trees disintegrate over time when used as structure. In the last 40 years, I've removed and replaced a lot of worn out "structure". A number of years ago I found a fantastic (and cheap) tool for removing old structure. Places that sell horsey stuff usually stock "tack hooks." They are large and strong stainless steel grappling hooks. I'm sure Angus MacGyver must have used one in at least one of his TV shows to escape from something. The last one I bought about two years ago cost about $3.00. Outfitted with about 25-50-foot of strong rope, we've retrieved chaise lounges, fishing poles, lost minnow traps, and a fair amount of worn out structure.

Oooooooooh! May have to sneak into the wife's tack room and "borrow" one of those someday.

That is one of my most useful pond tools! I can`t tell you how much stuff I have retrieved with it. My son took my tall fiberglass stepladder to the deck so he could jump off the roof! I was looking for it in the barn and he confessed to the theivery. We thought someone had stolen it, but in a few minutes of throwing the hook it was recovered!!
