I have a 3\4 HP 230 volt, 7 amp submersible pump to help keep my pond full. I am wanting to figure how much it will cost to run it. Does anyone have a formula that I can plug in my cost per KH to figure this?

I found one thanks to google !!!

Amps x Volts divided by 1000 x
kWh (your kilowatt cost) x 24 hours per day x 30 days per month

Mike,
Just out of curiosity, what did you come up with?

7 x 230 / 1000 x .0801 x 24 x 30 = $92.85

In Texas that would run about 150$ thanks to deregulation.

My well is 88 feet. I believe the pump is setting at 65 feet. The guy who dug the well said I should get 30-40 GPM. I just got the pump running on Sunday and I need to see what size they put in. They said it was either a 20 or 25 GPM pump. I requested a 25-30 1 HP pump. I guess the guy just decided to save me some money on the pump...HA !! He is a high school friend so I cannot be too mad at him. I ran it for 24 hours and the pond had came up about an inch. If I can just maintain what I have, I will be happy. June, July and August are the months I have to really run it all the time. So increasing my electric bill $100 a month isn't that bad to me for 3-4 months.
