Does anybody have a style or brand of waders they recommend for pond maintenance and specimen collecting in streams and wetlands? Is this style good or are bib style better? http://www.kodiakoutback.com/detail.aspx?ID=103

Not sure about the ones you posted. I personally like neoprene bibs type with felt soled boots. Full neoprene might be too hot down South though but I would definitely go with felt soles for traction. Buying the boots and waders (stocking type) is cost effective because the boots seem to outlast the waders about 3:1 for me. Bibs are handy if the have a pocket up top for keeping stuff dry, especially if inside. Water is usually deeper than it looks and there's been a couple of times when I wished my bibs were about 2" taller...especially when trout fishing in February.

Theo, the ones I linked to are something like GoreTex I think. Suede would be nice though.

GW, are far as wadders go. When we seined one of my ponds, all of us with boots on got stuck in the 1.5' accumulation of silt on the bottom. I would just go with tennis shoes (sneakers etc) or something that will unstick from the vacumn that the silt causes.
Just do it...

Sorry about the double post. My input is barely worth reading once.
