I can not believe the wealth of knowledge here. When I got my pond permit the town board said that they have never seen anyone do that much homework. But I now see just how much I have to learn and I am extatic about finding this web site.. I will be fishing for a week or so but when I get back you guys and gals are going to be sick of my questions. Thanks to the Pond Boss for having and maintaing this site! Maki Here is my humble little pond 48hrs old

Maki welcome to the PB forum. I can envision a very nice pond in your pic. Looks like you have a pier staked out as well. You might look up some of the guys from your NY area here for some local pointers.

Maki, Welcome to the forum! If you have any Upstate/Wester NY questions please feel free to give me a shout. I went through the process your starting on about 4 yrs ago. I learned tons from these folks here and have some Upstate NY ideas and thoughts that may or may not apply to what your doing. Give me a shout here or prvt msg. Looks like a nice start to a fun pond!

Hi Maki. Welcome to PB, I am also a new member. It looks like you are going to have a great pond.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have about 6 ft of water in the pond at this point what should I be doing with plant life at this point? I put about a 3-4 ft high (100 stones) rock pile in today just(20 ft)off the 3 ft natural rock shelf. I am going to build and place a pvc tree in tomorrow and that will finish the bottom structure. Sooo... what do I do for plants? Thanks Scott
