Is this possible in a shallow pond? I have been using shiners 6-10" long for bass bait and catch big CC while fishing. I have had them pick up on crankbaits also. I think that a few big ctas may help on taking out small crappie.
Thoughts?

Big CC would eat some Crappie, but I doubt they'd be anywhere near as effective as your bass.

masterbasser, I have a friend that has a small pond full of large CC and he put in 4, 4inch crappie last year. They seined it a month ago, and he has thousands of 2inch Crappie, So my bet would be NO.

CC can't really be depended on to control BG. It takes bass. So, I really doubt it. Of course, a bass heavy pond can usually, but not always, be depended on to control and create a pond full of big crappie.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
