Hello all, sorry about putting so many new threads this week. I am just trying to cover all my bases before digging the pond next week.

Today I looked at Northern Alabama's weater forecast. It calls for 30% rain on Monday and 20% rain on Tuesday. If given the option, should I have the dozer contractor dig my pond? Secondly, will a small shower or light rain stop or prohibit the digging process?

well, you know, if you wait for the perfect day to start, you may never start. its only wednesday, i can assure you the forecast will change before sunday nite. as long as it stops the dozer aint afraid of a light rain. what kinda terms do you have with the dirt movers? speaking of which, its only dirt.

Dirt conditions are only skin deep. Once you get down past the first foot or so, it doesn't matter. The only thing that will stop a dozer is a hard rain with very large puddles collecting in the pond. The dozer operator will probably make the pond bottom slanted, and dig a "sump" on 1 side of the pond in early in the construction phases.
