What would my style be? Make a joke about it, then turn the thread in another, unrelated direction?

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people at all times, keep my self physically fit mentally awake and morally straight.
There you go George, Here's the Scout Oath, I felt since you laid down the Scout Law I might as well get the Oath on here as well. Are you a fellow Scouter?
My son just received the highest scout rank this last week,, After basically 10 years from cubs to scouts I can proudly say he is a Eagle Scout.
And also the first time I have been able to share that with non direct family members.
A little snow, Please!

I could only wish I did something that cool as a young man.
I was captain of my bowling team--that's about it.

I was high scorer on my High School Quiz Team my Junior and Senior years. There's nothing like being a Quiz Team hero to attract hot and cold running cheerleaders!

We have 20+ eagle scouts in our family. I am not one of them as I was to busy with sports, school functions ( key club , boys state , student government, etc) and work.

I did enjoy the scouts. Not many merit badges, and no rank above First Class, but I wouldn’t trade the memories for anything, and having a great scoutmaster who lived the values of scouting helped mold my life and many others.
Mudcat Joe, on the other hand, sez the bestest thing about them scouts is the snipe hunts. “Heck, one time, they took me out, and them worthless scouts musta’ got lost, ‘cause I never seen them no more that night. I never saw no snipe, neither, but I know they done their best for me, so next day I found a hognose snake and left it in their tent for them to play with. Sorta a pet, don'cha know. When they went in to go to sleep, that hog nose musta’ thought they wuz after him, ‘cause he reared up and flared out like a cobra. I could see his shadder on the tent wall, and it was downright purty, but it shore looked big in that lanternlight. Them scouts musta' scared off every snipe in the country with all their yelling and carryin on,” Mudcat sez, with a far away look in his eye. “They scared the hognose, too. He jes’ rolled over like he was ded and proceeded to stink up the place somethin’ awful. Yep, I shore did like that snipe hunt, but they never asked me no more. I don't know why.” Mudcat's friend, Lou, Troop 7

Mudcat Joe, I found that experience with snipe hunts and hog snakes came in mighty handy a couple of years after scouting, surviving the mud and jungles of the S. Pacific. But what’s this got to do about fishin’ and moderator styles anyway? Who has the nerve to address Mr. Cody or the “Guvner’s ” moderator style? I wouldn’t touch that one with a ten foot pole ...

Bill Cody:
A great, deep pool of sweet-tasting cool water. Drink as fast and as much as you want, there's plenty for all.
DD/DD1:
The bottle's kinda funny-looking, and I'm not exactly sure what this stuff I'm drinking is, but MY it's tangy, full of the zest of life.

Don't let them scare you. When it comes to moderating they are the kind grandfatherly type. Bill -- consummate scientist with a vision for water from the smallest micro-invertebrate on up. Moderating style - "It all depends" on how tied up he is on archives. DD -- kind hearted no -nonsense guvner of the forum from " before there was a forum and before the mag. was in color". Much more professorial than you think -- he just keeps it on everyone else's level.

Theo,
Can you say AL-KE-HAW-LIK?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
