A name...one of the first things that I noticed when we bought our dream place many, many years ago was the annual return of large colonies of meadowlarks. They are not real common around here but were common birds of my youth. Also, birds and wildlife are a huge part of the reason for having a country place. Hence, the monicker Meadowlark Ranch....not your typical sounding ranch name, but very appropriate for this place.

During my shift as steward, some of the birds have gone from annual migration to permanent residents. I leave some portions of pasture un-mowed each year to encourage them to stay...and it works.

You guys are making me seriously re-think my screen name. Waterloo (where I live) was the best I could think of at the time :')

"BTW, in all honesty, my name is not really Dave Davidson or even Dave Davidson1."

I'm hurt.

"sebo" was a nickname growing up
"f" is my last initial
kind of rolls off the tounge if treated as a single word.

Eastland County Texas...I've been waiting quite a while to see a County neighbor join...I guess "David Davidson" (i.e NOT David Davidson 1) is still my closest neighbor \:\) LOL, tricky parents.

Fessin up time. It's actually Samuel Zeno Davidson Jr.
Or, Dave for short.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Postrock comes from a unique feature in north central Kansas - lots of limestone rock. With the proper tools it is "easy" to quarry. Trees were few and far between in the early days here. Farmers used the limestone to make fence posts. yes they are large & heavy, but will last several generations. Lots of homes, farm buildings, commercial buildings and courthouses were constructed with limestone rock.

I had a different name picked out but I thought since I was offering advise, it best be known who to be happy or upset with...hence my own name. I have nothing to hide.

I wish that I could say that mine was as a result or wit or charm, or maybe even a hidden message or perhaps bestowed due to valorous deeds or at least out of respect or kindness, however, after a short stint in the Army, I, like, many wound up with an abbreviation of my last name, Radford, as few liked to use my first Robin. The nickname has followed me every since, even my wife used it.

I looked for a long time to find a unique and fitting name for the farm. I have been very blessed and the farm serves as a ministery in many ways. The farm is named after the original occupation of one of the greatest ministers in the Bible "Paul". The name seems to fit and reminds me to be thankful, so I decided to use it for my screen name.

I used zh on files that were mine on our computer.
The z put the files at the bottom and made it easier to find the files than my initials kh.
Then when I went to e-mail kent was taken, so used zhkent. Has worked pretty good as a login as usually available.
My wife and kids had used my e-mail until lately, and they are not totally enthused about the new e-mail logins I made for them, zhrob, zhhannah, and zhross.

Make it look easy,
