Today (03/01) is the day I begin feeding after a winter hiatus. On this day I usually throw out a bit of food to a less than enthusiastic audience of copper nose kids. Today they hit the first handful of pellets in mid-season form! I suppose the drought draw down coupled with the warm winter has water temps much higher than normal for this time of year. I shudder to think how many times I've walked down to the waters edge over the past month or so with all those kids wondering why dad isn't feeding them  .

My fish won't be feeding for some time. The 1/2 acre I have left is loaded with about 25 mallards when I arrive. The water is grey and the fish just aren't really that interested.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done.

It was in the high 80's today and I picked up my new Aquapro feeder and 200lbs of food...I'll find out if they are hungry Saturday  My HSB seem to always eat. I would like to get the predators eating at the feeder (HSB & Catfish pellets, LMB lurking for feeding BG) before I put in 20lbs of Tilapia in April. I know it probably makes no difference, but I want to introduce them as far away from the feeder as possible.

I was at my pond today in central Ga. Water temps were in mid 50's with air temps in upper 70's. Official high today was 79. I tossed out a handfull of food thinking not much would happen. I was WRONG. Coppernose were hungry all afternoon. Every spot I stopped to fish I tossed out a handfull and had feeding all over the pond. I caught 6 largemouth from 10-16 inches all had relative weight over 100%.
