OP Cecil Baird1 Hall of Fame Lunker Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 20,043 Likes: 1 Northeastern Indiana	My dad and I used a trencher to cut a 2 foot deep trench down the outside of two of my ponds that are seeping along the outside of the dikes. A total of 180 feet. (The trench not the seepage) Anybody ever try and trench into wet clay? Believe me it's a nightmare. We put down a barrier of EPDM rubber on the dike side of the trench and filled. I'm hoping this will work as part of one of the ponds and part of the other has created a wet spot on the neighbors property. It's not a bad seep but annoying. I don't lose much water out of the ponds, but just want to keep the neighbor's property dry. I'll keep you posted and let you know if it works. If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Needless to say first pass was about 1 ft deep I came home from work to see him trying the second pass. Trying to get a 800 pound trenchers wheels out of a 1 ft ditch isn't much fun! Ended up having to hire a guy with a tractor mounted trencher.

The ones you walk and steer have to be guided in reverse and it's very hard to keep them on course. If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
