This is from FishinRod's initial post:

Welcome to the Active Comments section for the Posting Photos from Imgur thread in the PHOTO GALLERY section.

If you find an error in the instructions, please reply here. We can then make edits as needed to the locked Posting Photos instructions post!

If you are having problems posting your photos, even after following the instructions post, then try posting an exact description of your problem in this Comments section. If it is a simple problem, hopefully one of the experienced members can give you a little guidance.

If the problem seems to be recurring for multiple members, then we will try to make some clarifying edits in the original Posting Photos thread.

Good luck on now being able to post your photos to Pond Boss! For many "pond problems" a picture truly may be worth a thousand words.

Finally, at some point in the future, there may be a change in the Imgur functionality or hosting requirements, or in the Pond Boss software. If you note such a problem in the future, then revive this Comments post and we will try to create a new solution.

It is so easy to add a photo from your phone, don’t 99% of users have a cell phone

I'd love to post from my phone, but my phone (which is about 4 years old now) and all newer phones take pictures that are larger than 2MB per piece. So we can't post unless we also take the step of finding a program to downsize the file size before the forum will accept it.

are you referring to getting pictures from your phone to an online hosting place like flikr or imgur and then from there bringing them back to the forum posting through upload?

I had hoped this forum software in some future update would do the downsizing for us at the time of plopping photos in our post

I do believe the forum software will downsize an original photo, not a screen shot photo
As you can see in my attached photo, if you click the “Actual size” icon at the bottom it give you
Choices. As long as it’s under 2.0Mb it will post

Jason you must be using a different software or setup on your phone.

Android or Iphone?

Are you going to an internet browser and pulling up the forum in a webpage and then using the photo upload tool? I just did that on my phone and it does not give resizing options and declined to upload my 5mb picture as it is too big.

are you using an app to access the forum?

Maybe your phone has a resizer as part of your 'photo viewer' app? I'm missing how you got to that screen.

It looks like Imgur has been "improved". Can you still post pics to the forum from Imgur? BB link seems gone?

RAH,

You can right click on an image hosted by Imgur and one of the choices in the menu will be to copy the image link. You can used that image link in two ways. One is from the full editor where you select the add image icon. When prompted just paste the link. One way is to type the tags and paste the image link between them.

e.g.

Give that a try. Hope it helps.

Thank you. I'll see if my son or daughter understands your instructions the next time they visit. Update: Now I cannot even get to my images. Not worth the hassle to post a couple of pics of nice fish from one of my ponds. See why folks just use FB.

That's weird, I just now used imgur and nothing has changed for me on what procedure I use to post a picture here. Have your son or daughter look at your computer, it might be user induced...........
