I have been hand throwing Purina Starter to the small fish at the edge of the pond. Taking note of the things that I see in that limited zone. I have thrown brush in this area as shelter for small fish for the pond has very little natural shelter.
At the edge of the brush, about 12' out, I saw a ball of black fry about 1/2 to 3/4" long approximately 300 in a compacted group. The individuals remained quite stationary as did the group at or near the surface. Water Visibility is about 12" temperature 75. They very slowly moved along the edge of the brush in a random & haphazard manner. Perhaps in a half hour the group had moved 10'. They seem to be ignored by the small CNBG feeding in the area. A 13" bass gave them no mind but remained in the area. When startled, they dove deeper & disappeared but quickly returned to the surface. Eventually they disappeared. They along with the bass were seen in the same area a few days latter and exhibited the same behavior. No chance of netting one or a picture.
From their shape ,color & behavior, I can identify MF, GSD, GSH, BG, BrBH fry & minnows. I have seen just one swim up of LMB fry 3/8" along with the male. Nothing seems to fit.

I am SWAGing March, a North FL pond, LMB fry

Anyone else hazard a guess?
