OP Kirb252 K Joined: Nov 2024 Posts: 8 Likes: 1 Alabama	Today i put the lime to the test. We got the pond up to 11.4 throughout. The small puddles that were separated had complete kills, the main pond is on the way hopefully.

OP Kirb252 K Joined: Nov 2024 Posts: 8 Likes: 1 Alabama	We used a pallet of lime, it got the ph to 12.03 -12.4 across the board. No sign of life now, will run a net through it and update for anyone wondering.

But sounds like it was the right choice for you. Good information to have just in case. I will be looking for the results. I'm assuming you are removing all the dead fish you can with the net as well as looking for any live fish? I have about 8 or 10 cedars, about 10 ft tall floating for cover. It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color. Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done. Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Just planning on letting the lime dilute on its own? How safe is it to leave the dead fish out for wildlife to consume? I assume the fish would be unpalatable until washed well.
