Good morning, gentlemen... I realize this is a pond forum, but I'm hoping that maybe some of you southern guys might be able to help me out. Has anyone used a guide service for crappie on Toledo Bend by chance? I was looking into this one here, Toledo Bend Crappie Guide, but there aren't a lot of reviews. Hoping maybe someone had info on this charter/service. TIA!

I am zero help on your specific question.
However, I think any decent guide could put you on good crappie fishing at the right time of year.
Are you going this fall, or next spring? I would directly call the guide service and ask what are typically the "hottest" weeks. See if they have any open slots still for the best times.
We took my disabled father out for guided striper fishing at Lake Texoma last year. We went during prime time in the spring and basically were putting fish in the boat the whole time we were on the water. None of us had ever fished Texoma before, or even specifically fished for striped bass.
We do have a lot of Texas pond guys on the forum. Hopefully, some of them can drop in and give you some better advice for a guide service they know.
Have fun crappie fishing!

Thanks FishinRod! Appreciate the reply. Having a decent guide on retainer would be ideal so that I could go anytime of the year, haha. Appreciate the input on the striper fishing as well. I reckon any solid guide service will certainly know the best times and be able to keep us on the fish. Ty again, sir. Have a good one!

I was just giving the striper example to show that with a good guide, they can even put people that have never done that style of fishing onto the fish.
However, if you did want to go to Texoma, you can certainly fill all of your limits at a favorable time of year and be sent home with a lot of filets. We did a beer-battered fish fry with ours and even the family members that don't like fish much chowed down!
If you get into some good crappie fishing at Toledo Bend and can catch a limit of eating sized crappie, your family will probably have happy bellies.
