There is a leak at the bottom of this overflow tank. There is water coming in from the bottom. This overflow is no longer needed. Planning on filling it with concrete. Does this sound like a viable plan?[video:youtube]https://youtube.com/shorts/JGsMhqlOE1I?feature=share[/video]

Welcome to Pond Boss!

Let's see what others have to say.

Sorry about the leak, but I don't think anyone not on location has enough information to give you a good answer.

Once you fill the overflow tank with concrete, it will no longer be able to be economically repaired. It is also unlikely to ever be moved again, unless you bring in heavy equipment. Hope you would be happy with those two results.

As to your direct question. What is the max water pressure that will be encountered while the concrete is setting? 4-5 feet of concrete can withstand a lot of pressure, but not limitless.

More importantly, does your overflow tank still have a fairly sturdy bottom? If the tank bottom is suspended over 10' of free water, then you pouring in concrete may knock the bottom out of the tank, and your concrete will then just flow to the bottom of your body of water.

Just throwing out ideas for you to consider, since you are the person with eyeballs on the problem.

Good luck!

Never heard of an overflow tank.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
