It is either a common shiner (Luxilus cornutus) or a striped shiner Luxilus chrysocephalus) - both basically stream species and need moving water for successful spawning . Note the obvious diamond shaped scales. The striped one is widely distributed and most common in streams of OH and probably IN. Both used to be Notropis cornutus with the striped shiner being a subspecies. I have seen them up to 8"-9" long.
