Anyone ever do this, or hear about this?

1. Dredged material pumped into a dewater/geo-textile bag.

2. Eventually the material dries.

3. Can that dried bag be covered in seed? Or soil, then seed?

Seems like a triple win.
-The idea was that the water would drain back into pond.
-The material would not have to be moved.
-The earthen berm would add to raise the shore next to the pond.

Considering I have not ever done this, nor worked with the materials, what thoughts come to mind.
Give me your optimistic thoughts.
Toss in your negative thoughts.

I haven't done it, nor committed to it.
Let the discussion begin!

You'd have to cut the top of the bag away to allow the seeds to get to the soil in the bag. At least that's my thought anyway. The earthen berm might raise the shore next to the pond, but it wouldn't hold water to make the pond water level rise.

Sounds like a fun deal.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I found someone doing what I spoke of! Problem is I have such a small job, the company isn't for me.

The idea is sound though!

Bumping.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I'm trying to figure out and what that fabric is exactly.
Also, where I could source it.

Weelll, I have two suggestions:

Call that company and see if you can buy enough material for your job seeing it is too small for them to come out and do it.

OR

Contact White Cap and see if there are any near you. They have different lengths, thicknesses and widths. If none are exactly what you are looking for, if it's too wide, you could cut it narrower while it is still in the roll.

https://www.whitecap.com/product/140nl-15apos-x-360apos-600-sy-157R140NL15

They have geotextile fabric that is used for underlayment in road building, so they might have what you are looking for if you know the specs of the fabric you are looking for.

FlexMSE is also another company to check out. I know fabric types can depend on what you plan to plant.
